| Scholarhsip and Career Guidance Committee |

| The Committee promotes the field of Transportation Engineering through the award of scholarships to students attending colleges in Colorado and Wyoming. The committee also coordinates the activities of the current student chapter at the University of Wyoming and encourages the development of additional student chapters in Colorado. The District 6 vision to “encourage, support and provide opportunities to attract retain and develop the most talented students into the transportation profession” is shared by the committee. The committee awarded scholarships totaling $2,000 in the 2006/2007 fiscal year. |

| The Committee coordinates training and professional development activities for the Section related to the practice of transportation planning and engineering. This includes serving as a members' clearing house for training activities nationally, promoting the activities of other organizations that are in Colorado and Wyoming and would benefit Section members, and organization and conduct of specific workshops, seminars, and training sessions expressly for the section. The Committee also organizes the ITE technical program at the annual Colorado Transportation Conference. |
| We've had considerable success in each of the last two years with half-day workshops in conjunction with the last lunch meeting of the calendar year on Access Management in 2000 and on the Millenium Edition of the MUTCD in 2001. We also conducted a highly successful training session on Synchro/Sim traffic traffic analysis software in April 2001, with over 50 attendees. The Committee is currently seeking input from Section members on potential training and development activites. |

| The Membership Committee is responsible for maintaining the Section’s membership database in order to facilitate the dissemination of information its members. In addition, communication to our national organization is vital to ensure that records for both the local and the national chapter are consistent. In each issue of Conveyances, the membership committee is responsible for writing the article, ‘On the Move’ which is dedicated to announcing member career moves, advancements, or new members. In an effort to get to know our members better, one of our regular Conveyances articles beginning this year (2007) will be a personnel profile in which we feature one of our ITE members. |

| The Colorado/Wyoming Section has two awards that may be given to deserving members each year. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes continued, significant service to the transportation profession and the Institute by a member of the Section. This award is given in December, and the 2003 recipient was Richard D. Bauman. The Transportation Professional of the Year award recognizes notable professionalism and achievement during the previous calendar year. The award is given at the May meeting, and nominations are now being accepted. The Awards Committee is primarily comprised of previous award winners, but the committee is open to any interested member of the Section. |

| The Committee is responsible for monitoring transportation-related policy throughout Colorado and Wyoming and reporting on matters relevant to the Section. It is not charged with expressing editiorial opinions on behalf of ITE. The Committee may serve as a clearinghouse for technical information, helping to connect transportation decision-makers with the expertise of the Section membership on any given subject. Currently, the Committee provides regular Legislative Updates in the Section Newsletter, Conveyances. |

| The Committee plans social and volunteer activities to complement the technical and professional development activities of the Section. The committee also coordinats an annual Ski Train Trip to Witner Park. |

| Creation and update of the sections website. Posting new information for members. The website committee is currently exploring an overhaul and update of the website. |
| Golf Tournament Committee |

| The committee organizes and hosts the sections golf tournament each year. The committee solicits sponsorship from consultant firms, industry representatives and other commercial establishments, selects and coordinates logistics with the golf course, manages the registration process, purchases prizes and hosts the awards ceremony and luncheon following the tournament. Additional committee members are welcome to assist with this popular annual event. |
