Colorado/Wyoming Section Wins ITE Outstanding Section Activities Award
(Monday, June 25 2007)From Bill Hange, COWYITE section president;
Shortly after learning that the Colorado-Wyoming Section has been awarded the ITE District 6 Activity Award for sections with over 300 members, we learned that our Section also won the ITE Outstanding Section Activity Award – an international award. I will be accepting the award on behalf of the Section at the international annual meeting in Pittsburgh on August 4th. The International Award was announced in a letter from Thomas W. Brahms, Executive Director and CEO. This award is particularly special as the Section will be celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2008.
These awards are testaments to the high level of participation our Section Membership exhibited in our luncheon attendance; the number of training sessions and workshops organized for the Section; our interest in awarding scholarships and recognizing professional excellence; support for an active University of Wyoming Student Chapter; and our interest in encouraging links between our professional members and vendors/suppliers in the transportation community.
I would like to express my personal thanks to the Executive Committee members, other volunteers and all our members for making our Section an award-winning professional organization.
